Is your coach as committed to your training as you are? Or is the balance lopsided?

Throughout my riding career, I have tried to find coaches that take an interest in my progress, that actually care and want me to improve. These coaches are committed to the journey that I am on, and will work as hard as I am to make sure I achieve my goals.

As committed as I am to my riding and fitness goals, I am just as committed to my students. With all my students, if they want to improve and willing to put the hard work in, I will work just as hard to make sure they progress and achieve their goals.

Commitment needs to come from both sides. If you have a coach that is only going through the motions or is not really interested in teaching you, then you are missing out on the finer aspects of coaching. If you have a student that is not as commited as you are, you will only end up being frustrated with their lack of progress or intensity.

The coach – student relationship is a very important one. Make sure you find someone who is as committed as you are. Make sure the scales are balanced between the both of you!
