I was lying in bed last night, composing my next blog in my head. My inner voice (more on this later) said I should write it down… then I also said “no need lah. I am sure to remember tomorrow.” Anyway tomorrow is now here, and I have no idea what I was composing in my head. NFI! Not even a clue about the topic.. which is how this topic came about.
It is day 9 of the MCO. Yesterday we were told that the MCO is extended until 14th of April which is probably a smart move but people are still buying groceries like it is a zombie apocalypse.
So here are some random tips or thoughts that may or may not help.
- If you have a good idea, WRITE IT DOWN IMMEDIATELY! Especially if you have the memory of a goldfish
- Wearing a face mask is great because when you talk to yourself, no one can see you doing it! No, I do not have an imaginary friend. I have an inner voice, which apparently some people don’t have. You can read about it here : https://www.iflscience.com/brain/people-are-weirded-out-to-discover-that-some-people-dont-have-an-internal-monologue/
- When times get a little stressful, a sense of humour helps… especially as stressful times not only bring out the best in people, but also the worst in people

- Bite your tongue… think before sending that message.. count to ten before replying – all these are very helpful
- I rely a lot on my coach when I ride, so not having one has made me become more self aware and I have had to push my boundaries a lot more. I have discovered that I do not trust Cavi’s right canter as much as his left, and it feels like he doesn’t trust his eye as much when jumping off the right rein
- I miss the variety of food that we can get in Malaysia. I have cooked all my meals and I can’t wait to be able to go out and EAT! Yes yes, I miss my friends too… but maybe not more than I miss food
- There are plenty of other people worse off than I am
- It has been nice to spend more time with the riding school horses. I get to interact with them a bit more nowadays, be it riding, grooming, bathing or just fussing over them a little
- I am also grateful that I have great colleagues and staff that I enjoy working with. Not all of us can work from home at this time, and everyone has adapted well to the new routine
- Making a list of what I have in the fridge and freezer helps in keeping track of food and making sure I use it before it goes bad. I have also pulled out a few of my cook books (pictured below) to try some new recipes. After all, only my inner voice is here to complain if it turns out absolutely rubbish

Stay safe, stay at home, don’t horde food, and be kind.. Hugs!
